v o l u n t e e r s 503 6,005 hours of service Volunteer of the Year Kathy Shelton has been volunteering for The Rainbow Connection for 14 years! Kathy helps in the office with mailings, collects toy donations for our Wish Children and is a founding member of our “Magic Closet Committee” which is responsible for gathering all of the silent auction items used throughout the year at our special events. Kathy’s favorite event is our Celebration of Dreams where she can watch the Wish Child Fashion Show. She loves that “it’s all about the kids!” Her all time favorite memory is when she and her husband, Russ Shelton, had the opportunity to grant a child’s wish to ride in a convertible. “It is a memory I will always cherish.” Thank you, Kathy, for serving our Wish Families with amazing dedication! As our services and staff grew, our need for more space became clear. In 2019, Heritage Oaks Landscaping re-landscaped our front yard (isn’t it beautiful?). Inside our doors, Avripas Construction tore down old walls, built new walls and re-purposed space. In the end we gained much needed storage, work space and updates.
