Community fundraisers help The Rainbow Connection grant wishes that make a difference. If you want to host a fundraiser for Michigan kids facing life-threatening illnesses, this page covers what you need to know.

From ice cream socials and car washes to dinner dances and golf outings, your creativity and generosity can make dreams come true for brave children facing life-threatening illnesses. Every event, no matter the size, helps us grant wishes and share our mission with the community.

How It Works

1. Pick the event and the date

A fundraiser is any event or campaign you organize yourself, with some or all of the proceeds going to The Rainbow Connection. You run it and keep the details in your hands. Our Community Development Department supports you along the way.

Size is not the qualifier. A lemonade stand and a 200-person gala go through the same short approval form, and both help fund wishes for Michigan children.

Start with something you already know how to run. A golf outing at your home course or a night at your own restaurant is far easier than building an event from scratch.

2. Send us your plan

Fill out the fundraiser form on this page or email csouth@rainbowconnection.org. The Rainbow Connection asks hosts to share the plan before the event so the team knows what is coming and can help.

Where Do the Funds Go?

The average cost of a wish is $5,000. Your event might fund a full wish, or part of one alongside other supporters. You can read about the wishes we’ve granted in our wish stories, see how the Wish Program works, or review our financials.
