Beyond The Wish

At The Rainbow Connection, our primary mission is to make dreams come true for Michigan children battling life-threatening illnesses. However, we recognize that wish families often face additional burdens caused by the medical crisis they are navigating. The Special Response Program was created to provide support for unexpected financial challenges and connect families to essential resources when they need it most.

What assistance CaN Be Provided?

Our compassionate Wish Department staff are dedicated to understanding the unique needs of wish families and offering assistance in times of crisis. This program helps address unplanned financial expenses such as:

  • Utility Bills
  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Housing
  • Transportation
  • Other emergent needs as they arise
By easing these burdens, we hope to provide a sense of stability and relief for families already facing so much.

Special Response Guidelines and Referral Process

To ensure our resources are used effectively, the following guidelines apply:

1. Families must be an approved TRC Wish Family.

2. If you are a TRC Wish Family and would like to apply for the Special Response Program, please email our Wish Director: kristen@rainbowconnection.org to request the application link.

3. In an effort to maximize assistance, you may be connected with additional resources within the community to support your needs.

Through this program, The Rainbow Connection remains committed to supporting wish families before, during, and after their wish. We believe no family should face these challenges alone.
