2026/27 Scholarship Program

The Rainbow Connection competitive scholarship program is designed to support wish recipients pursuing higher education following high school graduation. We are looking to award multiple $1,000 scholarships in an effort to support our wish recipients’ educational goals.

Read below to learn more about scholarship eligibility. Click the button at the bottom of the page to apply. Your application must be submitted by April 20th, 2026.

Am I Eligible?

Must be a Rainbow Connection wish recipient or in the process of receiving a wish.

Must have completed a high school diploma or GED equivalent or be on track to complete your high school diploma/GED equivalent during the Spring 2026 semester.

You may receive this scholarship up to 4 times and must fill out the full application to be reconsidered.

You can re-apply if you were not approved for the application previously.

What are the Requirements?

  • Complete an online application no later than April 20th, 2026.
  • The application requires a letter of recommendation from a hospital social worker, teacher, advisor, work supervisor or volunteer supervisor.
  • The application requires current or last semester transcripts.
  • The application requires a current photo, a photo of you while on your wish and an essay.
  • All awardees must commit to attending a Scholarship Breakfast awards reception on June 4th from 8am – 10am at Dearborn Country Club.
  • You are welcome to reapply if you were not awarded a scholarship last year.

Awards will be announced in May of 2026 and awardees must accept/reject their award in writing within 10 business days of receiving their award notice.
