5-year-old Ziggy from Clinton Township was diagnosed with Leukemia just last year. His mom shares, “Nobody prepares you for being told your child has cancer. It’s scary and daunting and no family should have to go through it. In February 2025, what we thought would be a quick trip to the ER turned into a two week hospital stay and cancer diagnosis that changed our lives. Despite all the appointments, hospital stays, infusions, procedures, transfusions, delays and set backs, we have been so lucky to have programs like The Rainbow Connection find us. They have provided joy in dark moments, so many good memories and a trip of a lifetime to Disney World!”
Ziggy is currently in the maintenance phase of his treatment for Leukeumia and will continue to receive chemo, infusions and procedures until May 2027. His mom shares, “We still have a ways to go but he’s doing amazing! His hair has grown back, he has more energy, is heading into Kindergarten right on schedule, and enjoying less time in the hospital and more time in the backyard looking for bugs.”
